Alianza Agrícola

Thanks to all who participated in the Christmas for Kids project for the children of Alianza! GVI members and the Alianza team brought energy and good spirits to the wrapping and sorting extravaganza on December 18th, helping to get the gifts organized, wrapped, and out the door for delivery. We had cookies and coffee (thanks, Social Activities group!); we had pizzas and sodas (thanks, Alianza!); and we shared much laughter and enthusiasm.

It was an amazing event, truly filled with generosity and joy! Thanks to each and every one of you!

✊ Rallies

GVI members joined the Disappeared in America Rally on Saturday, December 20th, at the Batavia Detention Center. There were about forty protesters, they had music, announcements, and speeches. 🗽 2026 Legislation

There are two critical pieces of legislation that will be before the NY State Legislators. We want everyone to become familiar with these as we move into January 2026. Use the links below to familiarize yourself with each bill.

🗽 NY Health ACT

This legislation will be the most consequential healthcare legislation in recent history. The New York Health Act (NYHA) single-payer healthcare bill is under consideration by the New York State Senate. It has strong opposition from many entities. It first passed the New York State Assembly in 1992. The bill was later passed by the New York State Assembly in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. But has languished in the New York State Senate since then. The bill is currently with the New York State Senate’s Health Committee.

🗽 The New York for All Act, S.2235

The New York for All Act, S.2235 (Gounardes) / A3506 (Reyes), helps immigrant New Yorkers lead more open lives and take care of family, preserves state and local resources for our communities, and ensures New York dollars cannot be diverted to carry out a cruel, politicized immigration agenda. The legislation prohibits New York’s state and local government agencies, including police and sheriffs, from colluding with ICE, disclosing sensitive information, and diverting personnel or other resources to further federal immigration enforcement. By passing the New York for All Act, we’ll be one step closer to cultivating safe and vibrant communities for all New Yorkers, regardless of status. More information at New York Immigration Coalition.

New!A BLACK EYE FOR CBS: BARI WEISS PULLS SEGMENT ON CONDITIONS AT EL SALVADOR PRISON FOR TRUMP-ICE DETAINEES

Sunday night. 60 Minutes was scheduled to air a segment on the “brutal and torturous” conditions for those seized by the Trump regime and held at the notorious Centro de Confinamiento del Terrorismo (CECOT) in El Salvador, including interviews with some of the people held there.

This sort of self-censorship by our news media must be called out and challenged. Let’s reach out to CBS and demand 1) the Inside CECOT segment be aired as originally approved as soon as possible, 2) an investigation into the circumstances under which Weiss killed the segment and 3) firings for anyone who prioritizes cozying up to the regime over reporting the news. We can:

And if we are still subscribers to Paramount’s on-demand streaming service Paramount Plus, we can cancel here.

The original segment was inadvertently aired in Canada and here is a link to it: https://www.thereset.news/p/breaking-heres-the-60-minutes-segment/

New!Tell Congress to support the Social Security Emergency Relief  Act

Inflation Relief Act from Jessica Craven at Chop Wood Carry Water 12/5

A new Social Security bill (Social Security Emergency Inflation Relief Act) has been introduced to the House (H.R. 6193) by Representatives John Larson and Steven Horsford and to the Senate (S.3078) by Senator Elizabeth Warren that would give recipients an extra $200 a month until July 2026 to help deal with the increased cost of living. Eligible recipients include Title II Social Security beneficiaries, Supplemental Security Income beneficiaries, Railroad Retirement beneficiaries, veteran disability compensation, and veteran pension benefit annuitants.

Call or email your senators and House rep urging them to support this legislation.

New!The Jeffrey Epstein Coverup Continues

Trump, his GOP enablers, and the Pam Bondi-led DOJ still think that – if they stall long enough – voters will forget about Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes and the role Donald Trump, and some Republican megadonors, may have played in them. Epstein’s survivors have shown remarkable courage in continuing to pursue justice; surely Members of Congress can find their own backbones, too.

Now, with the administration’s disregard for the Epstein Files Transparency Act, they are also treating voters, especially their own MAGA voters who stood behind Trump because he promised to release the Epstein files, with outright contempt.

📮 Postcard Campaign

Mailing physical postcards is one of the simplest, most effective ways we can reach voters directly—with clarity, truth, and a personal touch that cuts through the noise. Whether we’re encouraging new voters to register, reminding infrequent voters what’s at stake, or helping our neighbors understand how their representatives are showing up (or not) for them, these short messages make a real difference.

With Health Insurance going up, this is the time to write local voters to remind them that their Congressional Representative voted for this to happen.

This article comes from Postcards4VA and is very relevant to our campaign against MAGA;

Across the Virginia Commonwealth, we showed up where it counted most—backing candidates in deep-red, rural districts where a Democrat hadn’t run in years; challengers taking on long-entrenched incumbents; and first-time candidates willing to raise their hands and run. We stood with candidates running for a second or third time, and with those who came close in 2023 and were ready to cross the finish line in 2025.

The result? Every one of the 13 candidates who flipped districts from red to blue had our support—and so did many more who didn’t win this time, but now have the experience, name recognition, and infrastructure to win in 2027.

To see what we mean, please enjoy this article from the Grassroots Connector,

“When We Run Everywhere, We Win: What It Takes to Compete in Every Single Race – A Look at Virginia 2025.”

Recommended BUT NOT REQUIRED donation: $5 for every 10 cards.
