GVI Weekly Actions & Events
September 29, 2026
This week — three things to do
- Thursday, October 1: All hands on deck! Help plan the No Kings Vote Early Fair at the Community Meeting, 6:30 at St. Michael’s
- Saturday, October 3: Stand Up, Fight Back in Caledonia, noon to 1:00
- Before October 24: Check that your registration is current
No Kings Vote Early Fair, Saturday October 17

The No Kings Vote Early Fair runs from noon to 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 17, at Gateway Corner Park in Geneseo. It’s more than just a rally. It’s a day of community outreach, and the afternoon is about helping people vote, from checking their registration to making a plan for when and how they’ll cast their ballot.
It’s also completely nonpartisan, which is a condition of every No Kings event in the country that day, so please leave candidate signs and campaign material at home. No Kings, Vote Early and Speak Up signs are all welcome, and the Saturday rallies are still the place for the campaign ones.
We’ll be talking it through at this week’s Community Meeting, Thursday, October 1 at 6:30 at St. Michael’s, and we need all hands on deck. We want this to be a day people remember, and the more of us who are in that park on the 17th, the more of our neighbors leave it with a voting plan, so come on Thursday and find the part of it that suits you.
Stand Up, Fight Back Saturdays: Caledonia
Our next rally is this Saturday, October 3 at Monument Park in Caledonia, noon to 1:00. It’s the north end of the county and it gets a different set of drivers than Geneseo does, which is why we move these around the valley.
Bring your best signs for Alissa Ellman, and bring somebody with you if you can. If you haven’t been to one yet, it’s an hour with neighbors waving at traffic, and first-timers are always welcome.
Where to Get a Yard Sign
The Livingston County Democratic Committee has Hochul and Adams yard signs at the Geneseo campaign office right now, at 128 Main Street, and a fresh batch came in last week. You can walk in and pick one up any day Monday through Saturday, between noon and 6:00.
Alissa Ellman’s signs haven’t reached the office yet. The committee’s going to let us know the day they land, and we’ll pass it straight on.

Further out, so you can plan: the No Kings Vote Early Fair at Gateway Corner Park on Saturday, October 17, and then Saturday, October 24, which is both the last day to register and the first day of early voting in New York.
A Few Short Things
- Check your registration before October 24. That Saturday’s both the last day to register for this election and the first day of early voting, and both happen at the Livingston County Board of Elections, 6 Court Street, Room 104, in Geneseo, so someone who isn’t registered yet can sign up and vote in one visit. The state’s voter lookup takes about a minute and shows your polling place along with your status.
- Genesee Valley Citizens for Peace are holding their own No Kings rally on October 17, 11:00 to noon on Main Street, urging people to vote early. You can drive over to Gateway Corner Park afterward for the fair. Their rally is nonpartisan too, so leave the candidate signs at home for both.
- Canvassing for Alissa Ellman starts with a training. You can sign up on the campaign’s volunteer page, and if you’d like to knock on doors anywhere in the county, the Livingston County Democratic Committee is the place to start, because they hand out the walk lists for the towns.
Meet the Democratic Candidates: Geneseo
All three Democrats on your ballot came to Room 205 at the Government Center on Thursday night. Alissa Ellman’s running for Congress, Michael Mills for State Senate and Gladys Flores Garcia for the Assembly, and each of them spoke before taking questions from the room. We co-hosted with the Geneseo Democratic Committee.

Thank you to everyone who came, and to everyone who brought something for the Geneseo/Groveland Emergency Food Pantry on the way in.
Thirty-Five Days
That’s how many days are left until Election Day on November 3, with early voting running October 24 through November 1. A week before early voting opens, the No Kings Vote Early Fair at Gateway Corner Park on October 17 is our chance to help neighbors check their registration and make a plan to vote.
And if you’re giving political money this fall, the campaign itself is still where it works hardest. Contribute to Alissa Ellman here.
