About Genesee Valley Indivisible

Who we are

Genesee Valley Indivisible is a grassroots pro-democracy group serving the Genesee Valley region of Western New York. One of thousands of Indivisible chapters nationwide, we organize locally to rebuild democracy and defeat the Trump agenda.

The organization has 6 working teams as follows:

  • GVI Organizer – Walter Pond
  • Rally/Events Team – led by Gary Koplum and Andrea DeMartinis; focuses on planning and executing rallies, educational events and any other activities sanctioned by the group.
  • Advocacy Team – led by Jen and Nick Pavio; works on developing factual information and contacting government officials regarding issues relevant to the group’s mission.
  • Digital Team – led by Maryann Reissig and Pam White, who develop and maintain our website and all other digital platforms.
  • Artists Team – led by Jeannie Donley; the team develops signs for rallies, buttons for all causes, organizational logos, etc.
  • Social Activities Team – led by Suanne Grove and Pam Maxson, focuses on developing social events to attract members and develop camaraderie within the group.
  • Postcard Team – led by Phil Jones – the team develops written documents as requested, encourages all form of written communication with politicians, local citizenry and the media both digital and printed.

Individuals are encouraged to contact any team leader with any questions they may have and to participate in any of the teams as they desire.

Statement of Purpose

Extremism and attempts to undermine our democracy are on the rise. Genesee Valley Indivisible strives to shine light on the dangers of this extremism by holding our elected representatives, government, and institutions accountable. We want a pro-democracy coalition that advances just policies that address the needs of ordinary Americans — on issues like healthcare, voting rights, immigration, and economic fairness.

We are local volunteers from across Livingston County and the greater Genesee Valley region of Western New York — many of whom are your friends and neighbors. We welcome everyone who is concerned about threats to our democracy and is interested in taking action to defend the U.S. Constitution and the rule of law.

Genesee Valley Indivisible is part of the national Indivisible movement, with thousands of chapters taking action across the country. Learn more about the national Indivisible movement →
