Which party favors communism and one-party rule?

Republicans are calling Democrats communists. This is because Democrats support social programs like Social Security and Medicare. Or new programs like affordable healthcare and reducing tuition at public universities.

Republicans claim (if Democrats are in power) these socialist programs will automatically turn us into a communist country like Russia or China or North Korea. Each of those countries are controlled by one party and an autocratic leader.

The truth is that Republicans are moving us more toward communism than Democrats. By demonizing the Democratic party, Republicans are obviously trying eradicate it. Apparently, a one-party system is fine for Republicans. Hmm. Just like a one-party system is fine for communism.

Trump demands that Republicans support his actions. Any naysayers are vilified by Trump and Republican leaders. Such free-thinkers are referred to by the pejorative term RINO and one way or another removed from the ranks of Trump’s Republican party. Hence the Republican party is now left with only those supplicants who echo Trump’s designs and desires. Pretty much the way the Communist party runs in Russia, China or North Korea.

Regarding that Axis of Communism, Trump has lavished praise on Putin, an indisputable mass murderer, and Kim Jong Un, a pathological nut job. While praising and rarely criticizing these communist leaders and regimes, Trump has stung our closest democratic allies with harsh words and crazy demands. He treats the enemies of democracy as friends and the bastions of democracy as enemies. Isn’t that exactly what a communist leader would do at the helm of America’s government?

Meanwhile, in America, Trump has systematically undermined our 250-year-old democracy. No other president has vilified the free press more than Trump. He has pushed his DOJ and his FCC to punish any news outlet calling him out on his lies and actions. Trump has claimed that the “Fake News Media” was the “real enemy of the people,” words used by Hitler and other dictators. Trump has also tried to control the election process, a right reserved for states under our constitution. Hence, Trump and the Republicans are mimicking communist countries where elections are controlled by the Party and the Leader.

Autocratic leaders want their name and face to be prominent all over their respective countries. Isn’t that what Trump is doing? His face is plastered on many government buildings while he tries to insinuate his name onto buildings like the Kennedy Center … just like the leaders in Russia or North Korea.

So, what party favors communism and one-party rule with an autocrat? That would be the Republicans.
