One week to go – vote early, then come out Saturday!
GVI Weekly Actions & Events
October 27, 2026
This week — three things to know
- Today, Tuesday, October 27: Early voting is open every day through Sunday at the Government Center in Geneseo
- Saturday, October 31: Bannering from 11:00, then Stand Up, Fight Back at Gateway Corner Park at noon with our ally GVCP. Costumes welcome!
- Tuesday, November 3: Election Day. Polls are open 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM
Early Voting Ends Sunday
Early voting is open every day through Sunday, November 1 at the Government Center, 6 Court Street in Geneseo, Room 205/208:
- Today (Tuesday) and Thursday: 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM
- Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
On Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, you vote at your own polling place between 6:00 AM and 9:00 PM. Polling places have changed in Avon, Geneseo, Livonia and Nunda, so check the county’s polling sites page or the state’s voter lookup before you go.
If your mail ballot is still sitting on the counter, the surest thing is to hand it in yourself at early voting or any polling place by 9:00 PM on Election Day. Mailed ballots need a November 3 postmark, so ask the post office counter to hand-stamp it. Monday, November 2 is the last day to apply for one in person.
If you need a ride to the polls on November 3, or you’d like someone to hand-deliver your absentee or mail ballot to the Board of Elections in Geneseo (and give you a receipt), call LivCoVote at (585) 548-2686. The service is organized by Indivisible Action NY, the Dansville Democrats and the Livingston County Democratic Committee.
Saturday, October 31: Bannering and Stand Up, Fight Back
The Livingston Bridge Brigade holds its banners from 11:00 to 1:00 for the last day of the Interstate Midterm Bannering Project, with groups on overpasses from Buffalo all the way to Boston. Jeannie Donley says it’ll be the brigade’s 30th time out this season. Come as Lady Liberty or Uncle Sam, wear red, white and blue, or bring any fun costume, and contact us for the meeting spot.
At noon, Stand Up, Fight Back Saturdays comes to Gateway Corner Park, 4267 Lakeville Road, and our ally Genesee Valley Citizens for Peace is bringing its banners too. Bring your best signs for Alissa Ellman.
If you’re interested in holding a flip sign, find Andrea at the rally!
Standing With Mr. Lin in Mount Morris
Dian Zhao Lin’s family has run Mun Yuen, the Chinese takeout in Mount Morris, since 2005. ICE agents arrested him in the village last Tuesday, October 20, and he’s been in ICE custody since. His wife and children are keeping the restaurant open.
More than 100 people rallied for him in Mount Morris on Saturday, GVCP members among them. “We love the Lin family,” Mayor Kelly Bacon told Spectrum News, and Governor Hochul says she’s raised his case with the Secretary of Homeland Security.
A petition asks ICE to release Mr. Lin while his case goes forward. Sign it, and if you’re anywhere near Mount Morris this week, stop in at Mun Yuen for takeout.

A Few Short Things
- Last call for GVI shirts. The GVI apparel store from SpecialTees closes at 11:59 PM on Sunday, November 1. Orders arrive together four to six weeks after it closes.
- Early voting jumped where No Kings showed up. In zip codes that hosted a No Kings event on October 17, early voting ran 51% higher than on the same Saturday in 2022, according to preliminary TargetSmart data Indivisible shared last week. In Livingston County, the Board of Elections reports 596 votes cast on the first day of early voting, October 24th, although we do not have data on last year at this time.
- Thank you, Deer Run. The staff donated a case of water to the Livingston Bridge Brigade.
- Save this number: 866-OUR-VOTE. Problems at Livingston County polls are unlikely, but if you see something that concerns you on November 3, ask the poll workers to explain. If that doesn’t settle it, or it’s more than they can handle, call the nonpartisan Election Protection hotline at 866-OUR-VOTE (866-687-6863), and they’ll alert the local Board of Elections. Put it in your phone contacts now!
- The GVI celebration dinner is Thursday, November 12. Details are coming by email.
Stand Up, Fight Back Saturdays: Leicester
More than 30 people came out to Leicester Village Park on Saturday, the first day of early voting, with signs for early voting, for Alissa Ellman and for Mr. Lin in Mount Morris. Thank you to Andrea and Gary for organizing, and to everyone who brought a sign.

Seven Days
That’s what’s left until polls close at 9:00 PM on Tuesday, November 3. If you’ve already voted, there’s still a ride to offer a neighbor this week, or a friend to bring along to Gateway Corner Park on Saturday.
And if you’re giving political money this fall, the campaign itself is still where it works hardest. Contribute to Alissa Ellman here.
