About Genesee Valley Indivisible

Who we are

One of thousands of local Indivisible groups, we are based in the Genesee Valley.  Our mission is to rebuild our democracy and defeat the Trump agenda.  Our chapter was formed in March of 2025, largely through the efforts of Walter and Cindy Pond.

The structure of the organization features a steering Committee made up of:

  • Walter Pond, York – Chair – currently on a leave of absence
  • Jane Petti, Dansville
  • Pat Moran, Avon
  • Pat Pawlaczyk, Hemlock
  • Shan Willis, Dansville
  • Phil Jones, Geneseo – Treasurer

The organization has 6 working teams as follows:

  • Rally/Events Team – led by Pat Pawlaczyk; focuses on planning and executing rallies, educational events and any other activities sanctioned by the group.
  • Research/Elected officials Group – led by Jen Pavio; works on developing factual information and contacting government officials regarding issues relevant to the group’s mission.
  • Social Media Group – consisting of Maryann Ressig, Pam White and Gayle Mosher, who develop and maintain our web site and all other digital platforms we are on.
  • Artists Group – led by Jeanne Donley; develops signs for rallies, buttons for all causes, organizational logos, etc.
  • Social Activities Group – led by Pam Maxson, focuses on developing social events to attract members and develop camaraderie within the group.
  • Writers and Postcard Group – led by Phil Jones develops written documents as requested, encourages all form of written communication with politicians, local citizenry and the media both digital and printed.

Individuals are encouraged to contact any steering committee member or team leader with any questions they may have and to participate in any of the teams as they desire.

Statement of Purpose

Extremism and attempts to undermine our democracy are on the rise. Genesee Valley Indivisible strives to shine light on the dangers of this extremism by holding our elected representatives, government, and institutions accountable. We want a pro-democracy coalition that advances just policies that address the needs of ordinary Americans.

Genesee Valley Indivisible is one of thousands of Indivisible groups across the country taking actions in support of a united democracy and the rule of law.

We are local volunteers, many of whom are your friends and neighbors. We welcome everyone who is concerned about threats to our democracy and is interested in taking action to defend the U.S. Constitution and the rule of law.

Weekly Meetings

You are welcome to visit us during our meetings, 6:30pm on Thursdays at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, 23 Main St., Geneseo, NY. A typical meeting begins with everyone sharing their Ups and Downs of the past week, sometimes a special presentation, and announcements.

Then we break up into Teams to plan events, coordinate writing campaigns, make rally signs, compare the results of issues research and share our progress in tracking statements and actions by local and state elected officials. We also plan social activities for ourselves and ways to reach out to the community in person and through social media. We can always use another pair of hands.
