Die-In Protest at Rep. Tenney’s Canandaigua Office

Saturday — October 25th — 11am
Details
Join Genesee Valley Indivisible members who will dramatize the real harm Americans are beginning to feel from the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBA)
passed by Repulicans earlier this year, as well as the federal government shutdown.
We recall that Representative Claudia Tenney cast the deciding vote for the OBBA and has not made any effort
to reach Democrats in the House of Representatives to avoid a government shutdown.

As of October 1st this year, the annual healthcare enrollment period has begun for many residents of our area.
And many of the notifications from the insurance companies say “your current plan is no longer available,
select from a new list.” Surprise! All of the plans on the new list appear to be more expensive or have fewer benefits.
These price increases are due to (1) continuing inflation from President Trump’s import taxes (aka “tariffs”),
(2) a Republican Congress that is cutting subsidies for Americans who receive health care insurance
through the ACA (“Obamacare”) system, and (3) impending cuts to Medicaid.

Help us remind Representative Claudia Tenney (NY-24) that she is also responsible for the rise in health care costs because
(1) she voted for the OBBA that cuts healthcare subsidies in January 2026 and
(2) cuts to Medicaid in 2028, (3) she has failed to object to Trump’s illegal tariffs by insisting that only Congress has the authority to impose tariffs.
We will be in front of Rep. Tenney’s office from 11am to Noon on Saturday, October 11th to remind everyone that the bargain
Republicans made with Billionaires is hurting working Americans and middle class Americans.

WHAT TO BRING: Yourself, a friend, and a yoga mat or blanket to lie on; signs with messages related to changes in healthcare.PARKING:
There is no parking allowed in the plaza where Tenney’s office is located.
Please park on side streets surrounding Tenney’s office;
such as Aroline Road and Kepner Road, which both intersect Route 332.
Also, please stay within 5 feet of the sidewalk.
