PROCESS
This draft was created by the GVI Steering Committee, using the ideas that members shared in their teams over the past month. The Steering Committee identified the words, phrases, and sentiments that appeared most frequently in the suggestions and sample statements submitted by the teams and collaboratively wrote this Draft Statement.
APPROVAL
The Steering Committee presents this DRAFT Statement for an up or down vote by the members present at the August 7th Weekly Community Meeting during the first half hour of the meeting, starting at 6:30pm.
Approval is defined as a simple majority of “yes” votes of those attending the meeting. Disapproval will be defined as a failure of the “yes” votes to reach a simple majority. In the event of a vote of disapproval, the draft will go back to the Steering Committee and another round of deliberation will be organized.
ABSENTEE VOTES
If you are unable to attend and have a strong feeling about approving or disapproving this statement, reply to this email and your “yea” or “nay” will be added to the votes cast on August 7th.
