Tenney values Trump over constituents
A recent Letter to the Editor by Kathryn Franck listed President Trump’s unconstitutional and illegal actions. Yet you say you will not stop supporting President Trump. How does this affect your constituents?
A Case Study: Cutting Medicaid
My father is 92 years-old, a veteran, and a retired Episcopal priest. He is also a resident of the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation because he receives Medicaid.
If Republicans cut Medicaid and my father loses care at the CNR, my family and over 185 other families have two choices:
- I spend over $10,000/month to keep Dad in long-term care, draining my own retirement savings AND going into debt.
- I quit working and bring Dad home to try giving him skilled-level nursing care at home. I will fail. My health declines from stress. My father has increased risk of falls, medical complications, and ER visits.
WAIT. Those 185 other residents receiving Medicaid were 74% of the CNR’s 2024 average headcount. When they leave, the county will close the CNR. All 250+ residents will lose long-term care. See #1 and #2 above.
AND, 390 staff will be unemployed, stressed and suffering with their families alongside resident’s families. The effect of lost salaries on Livingston County businesses? Your staff can do the research. Please share.
Maybe this won’t happen; maybe it will. The only way to be sure it does not happen is for you to stop President Trump and unelected Elon Musk.
