RALLY REPORT — APRIL 4, 2026
GVI thanks Genesee Valley Citizens for Peace (GVCP) for organizing and hosting a rally on Saturday, April 4, 2026 in Geneseo. About 75 activists from both organizations and other residents of the community gathered to protest the War with Iran and the authoritarian overreach of the Trump Regime in starting this war that a majority of Americans do not support.
This is a good opportunity to learn more about Genesee Valley Citizens for Peace and to see their Year In Review 2025. GVCP is entirely dependent on annual membership dues for its budget to promote peace from the Genesee Valley. For a modest donation, you can become a member and support their work!

Handmaid Army Memorial Action in Remembrance of Nurul Amin Shah Alam
Saturday, April 11th · 1:00 PM · Batavia, NY
Batavia Federal Detention Center, 4250 Federal Drive, Batavia, NY
Nurul Amin Shah Alam was a legally blind and elderly immigrant who died after ICE released him from detention and dropped him off several miles from his home, in freezing temperatures, at a closed coffee shop in the Buffalo area. An Albany, NY group of ReSisters will march as costumed Handmaids inspired by Margaret Atwood’s novel and the cable television production “A Handmaid’s Tale” on National F*ck ICE Day to honor his memory.
How to participate: Join them in solidarity with or without rally signs at the Batavia Detention Center, 4250 Federal Drive, Batavia, NY. Please wear typical civilian clothing appropriate for the weather unless you have made prior arrangements with the Handmaid Army of New York.
Genesee Valley Indivisible will share additional information about the exact route of their march and parking when it becomes available.
GENESEE VALLEY VOICES
From Heather Cox Richardson, an honorary Genesee Valley Voice:
At 8:03 this morning, Easter Sunday, President Donald J. Trump’s social media account posted: “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the F*ckin’ Strait, you crazy b*stards, or you’ll be living in Hell—JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP”
Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) posted on ‘X’: “If I were in Trump’s Cabinet, I would spend Easter calling constitutional lawyers about the 25th Amendment. This is completely, utterly unhinged. He’s already killed thousands. He’s going to kill thousands more.”
Murphy was not the only one thinking along those lines. Hollie Silverman of Newsweek reported that on the prediction market platform Kalshi, which allows traders to buy “yes” or “no” shares on the question “Will the 25th Amendment be used during Trump’s presidency?” “yes” has moved in recent days from 28.6% to 35.1%.
