“STAND UP, FIGHT BACK!” RALLY REPORT

About 100 activists and allies gathered on Rte. 36 in Dansville for a Stand Up, Fight Back Saturday event on February 28th. Although our hearts are still with the individual victims of ICE and the communities disrupted by ICE, we felt it was time to turn back to the Epstein Files. The apparent threat that the contents of the Epstein Files pose to President Trump has led to escalating distractions and possibly even a war that began just hours before our rally.
Protestors used their signs to express messages that are appearing around the country:
We Believe The Women, Release The Files
Grab Him by the Epstein Files
Impeach Bondi – Release ALL of the Epstein Files
America Wants the Truth
Release the Trump/Epstein Pedo-files
Horrors of Rape Last Forever
Turn Files Into Trials
Justice For The Survivors
Honk If You Are Not In The Epstein Files
Next week we sadly shift our message to protesting the unprovoked war with Iran. While we continue to call elected officials and remind our neighbors that we want ICE OUT, Release ALL of the Epstein Files, Refund Illegal Tariff Revenue, Stop Threatening to Rig the Mid-term Elections, and the list goes on.
GENESEE VALLEY VOICES
Walter Pond shares one of his favorite comments from Heather Cox Richardson,
“Authoritarians cannot rise if there are strong communities and people are acting with joy. That is, you need despair and anger in order for an authoritarian to rise…Whatever those things are that you bring to the community, do them, and do them with joy. And don’t stop doing the things you love because you are scared, because that is actually a form of resistance. Showing up and doing things you love says to an authoritarian ‘you have no place to root here’, and that’s going to be really important going forward.”

Buses will travel from multiple regions to Albany—because when we move together, we win together. More information on bus departure locations coming soon; register to stay updated.
Feeling Crisis Fatigue?
“As an engaged citizen, it can sometimes feel like the world is constantly engulfed in crisis.
Crisis fatigue is a form of burnout associated with prolonged exposure to crisis. It is a natural response to what’s happening around us. It can cause feelings of hopelessness, disappointment, frustration, anger, despair, exhaustion, and grief. Those suffering from crisis fatigue may become emotionally numb and unmotivated to take action. We may feel like there is nothing we can do to make a difference, and we may decide to do nothing at all.”
