Claudia Tenney needs to help us
Claudia Tenney, our Representative in Congress, is supposed to represent us. Instead, she is jackboot marching behind President Trump.
Earlier this year she voted to cut subsidies for healthcare and school lunches when she exuberantly supported the Big “Beautiful” Bill. These cuts will primarily endanger children, the elderly and the disabled.
Tenney also supports Trump in reducing or eliminating government programs that help all New Yorkers. These include the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that protects us from poisons in the air and the water. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) was reduced by 30% threatening the long-term observation weather patterns and hurricanes.
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) had to terminate vaccine development, dementia studies and cancer research. While needy New Yorkers suffer, the very rich will enjoy lower taxes. If, like the Democrats supported, we could have taxed the very rich just a few percentage points more instead of reducing their taxes, these losses to our people would have been eliminated.
Ahh, but she has been busy in Congress…when it was in session. Trying to ingratiate herself to an egotistical leader, she sponsored a bill that would have celebrated Trump’s birthday be a federal holiday! “Just as George Washington’s birthday is codified as a federal holiday, President Trump’s birthday should also be celebrated to recognize him as the founder of America’s Golden Age.”
Sadly, Tenney is the living definition of obsequious.
Representative Tenney also subscribes to the tactics of her Leader, specifically shamelessly lying. In attacking Democrats for the Republican government shut-down, she spouted this whopper: “Democrats shut down the government because President Trump refused to give free health care to illegals.” Democrats have said nothing about “free health care to illegals”. Zero. Nada. They have, however, demanded that Trump and Tenney stop taking away benefits from the poor and middle-class Americans. Democrats drew a line in the sand when it came to taking away needed subsidies in the Affordable Care Act by the end of year. This one part of the Big “Beautiful” Bill will cost most lower and middle-class Americans hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars more to maintain their healthcare. Many will be unable to pay the higher costs and hence lose their health care.
It’s painfully clear that Tenney isn’t concerned about all of her constituents. More than ever, we need a Representative who protects children, the elderly, the poor, the infirm and the middle class. Claudia Tenney has failed to help us.
