GVI Endorses Alissa Ellman for Congress

Genesee Valley Indivisible (GVI), an independent grass-roots organization, is pleased to announce its endorsement of Alissa Ellman for the 24th Congressional district. Alissa Ellman will defend the Constitution, protect our civil liberties, and uphold the rule of law. She values and supports the checks and balances of the federal government by exercising appropriate oversight of the executive and judicial branches of our government.

In endorsing Ellman, GVI applauds her commitment to stand up for the residents of NY-24.

Ellman, a disabled army veteran, recovered from cancer caused by burn pits in Afghanistan, and went on to work for the Buffalo Veterans’ Administration, a job she lost during the 2025 Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) cuts. She says, “If the current administration wants to give me 18 hours per day to fight back, I’ll take them up on it.”

According to Walter Pond, GVI Organizer, “GVI supports Alissa Ellman for Congress, not because she is a Democrat or a choice of the Working Families Party. Simply, she is the best candidate to represent the 24th District in Congress. She understands that the 24th is a rural district where even the few small cities are dependent on the outlying rural landscape. Ellman wants to be a real representative of those cities and of their rural neighbors. After all, farmers of the 24th produce the crops, milk, wine, beer, and beef flowing through those cities. Rural residents are stewards of natural wonders that attract thousands of tourists. And rural customers support village and city banks, stores, and doctors. The hard-working Americans of the 24th need a real champion in Washington, D.C. Ellman is that champion.”

She intends to ensure that no one goes hungry, that affordable health care is available to all, that the rights of workers and veterans are protected, that infrastructure is maintained, and that family life becomes more affordable through such things as child care options and affordable housing. She will make life better for the people of NY24. Ellman cares!”
