GVI Weekly Actions & Events
August 4, 2026
This week — three things to do
- Tonight, August 4, 6:00 PM: Meet Alissa Ellman at the Dansville Town Hall
- Through August 31: Every dollar you give GVI is matched, up to $300 — donate now
- This week: Tell Democratic senators to oppose the CLARITY Act
Tonight: Meet Alissa Ellman in Dansville
Alissa Ellman will appear at a Meet & Greet event tonight, Tuesday, August 4, at 6:00 PM, at the North Dansville Town Hall, 14 Clara Barton St. If you can make it, come with a question — this is your chance to hear directly from the candidate GVI has endorsed to defeat Claudia Tenney. The meeting is on the ground floor. Building is handicapped accessible and air conditioned.
$300 Match — Every Dollar You Give in August Is Doubled
Through August 31, Indivisible is matching every dollar raised through GVI’s ActBlue account, dollar for dollar, up to $300. That means a $25 donation becomes $50 for the work of beating Tenney, backing Alissa Ellman, and keeping GVI’s organizing going — at no extra cost to you.
This Week’s Call: Stop the CLARITY Act
The Senate could vote within days on the CLARITY Act — a crypto industry bill that does nothing to address the president’s own crypto conflicts of interest. Call and email your senators and tell Democrats to oppose it:
Script format: “I’m a constituent from Livingston County. Please oppose the CLARITY Act. It hands the crypto industry exactly what it wants while doing nothing about the president’s own crypto corruption. Vote no.”
Call your senators or send an email.
Five Reasons NY-24 Deserves New Leadership
Alissa Ellman laid out why she’s running — adapted here from her own words, without the fundraising ask:
- Protect rural health care. Families shouldn’t lose access to doctors, Medicaid, or a nearby hospital because of where they live.
- Make family life affordable. Expand child-care options, support affordable housing, and help working parents keep more of what they earn.
- Rebuild rural infrastructure. Our communities need dependable water systems, transportation, and access to hospitals, schools, and job training.
- Stand with workers and veterans. Protect collective bargaining, earned benefits, and the public servants who keep the country running.
- Flip NY-24 and change the House agenda. Winning the House means choosing which bills move, which communities get investment, and whether health care and workers’ rights are protected.
