Early voting begins Oct. 24, make your plan
Election season is here! This November, our ballots include races for Governor, the U.S. House of Representatives, the NYS Senate, and the NYS Assembly. These races shape our community, and your voice belongs in them.
Early in-person voting runs Saturday, October 24 through Sunday, November 1. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3. Any registered voter can also request an early mail ballot without giving a reason. October 24 is the deadline to register. New voters can register and vote on that same day at their early voting site.
Voting in New York is safe and secure. Every vote is cast on a paper ballot, creating a physical record that can be checked. Ballot scanners are not connected to the internet. Every county Board of Elections is run by a Democratic and a Republican commissioner working together. After every election, a random sample of machines is audited by hand against the paper ballots. Any registered American citizen over age 18 can vote with confidence.
Not sure where your polling site is, how early voting works, or whether your registration is current? Genesee Valley Indivisible is hosting a free, nonpartisan Vote Early Fair on Saturday, October 17, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Geneseo Gateway Park. Parking is available at the Genesee Valley Plaza and nearby stores. Volunteers will help anyone check their registration and make a voting plan. All are welcome.
Make your plan, bring a friend, and vote!
