Rep. Tenney slashes medical help

Rep. Claudia Tenney, R-Cleveland, appears with Thompson Health officials during an Oct. 24, 2025, visit to the Canandaigua hospital. She also visited Noyes Health in Dansville. The visits were unannounced to the public or the media.

Representative Tenney visited Noyes hospital in Dansville, one of the hospitals presently on the cutting block due to the Big “Beautiful” Bill.

During her unannounced (to the public) visit, she outright lied claiming “Democrats are pushing to slash $50 billion from the Rural Health Transformation Program, created in President Trump’s Working Families Tax Cuts.”

Here are the facts. Democrats want guarantees from Republicans that Americans don’t have to pay more for their health insurance. The Big “Beautiful” Bill is reducing the amount of federal money going into Medicaid. Further, BBB will reduce the number of Americans who are eligible for Medicaid.

Also, Republicans are dramatically increasing the cost of insurance premiums for millions of low- and middle-class Americans by taking away subsidies for the Affordable Care Act. Millions will lose their health insurance.

Hence, there will be a dramatic reduction of insured patients who will use rural hospitals.

Less income to the hospitals means a reduction in services or closures.

The $50 billion Rural Health Transformation Program would put some money back in for the rural hospitals that the REPUBLICANS TOOK AWAY. To be clear, this “gift” from Republicans is far, far less than what they are taking away from rural hospitals.

In summary, Democrats are not “pushing to slash $50 Billion.” Instead, they want federal funds for Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act to remain the same or even increase. The exact opposite of what Tenney claimed!

We need a representative who fights for our medical care, not take it away. And, just as importantly, we need a representative who tells the truth.
