Tenney should consider Serbia ambassadorship
Rep. Claudia Tenney should seriously consider an ambassadorship to Serbia ( “Tenney’s possible plans for the future”, Jan. 22).
Certainly, we haven’t seen her much as our representative. When did she last hold a town hall to hear from her constituents? Wasting time on Nobel Peace Prize nominations and bills to make President Trump’s birthday a national holiday may advance her political ambitions, but I prefer my legislators to be public servants, not toadies.
She has yet to write and pass a bill into law, but that doesn’t stop her from taking credit for the work of others, as she did at the groundbreaking for the Syracuse Micron plant.
Over $6 billion of incentives for the plant came from the Biden era CHIPS and Science Act, plus $5.5 billion in NY State “Green Chips” tax incentives, but Claudia would have you believe she and Trump were responsible. Missing from her explanation is the fact that, like most other Republicans, she voted against CHIPS and Science.
Claudia, I think Serbia would suit you well. It is the home of tennis player Novak Djokovic, after all! I hear you’re a huge fan.
