- Tues, August 25: Postcards, pens, and pizza in Spencerport — GVI is a co-host

- Sat, August 29: Bannering Project with LCBB, GVI, or GVCP
The Power of the Pen
— CORRECTION —
TUESDAY, August 25
Five groups, one table, a lot of postcards. GVI is co-hosting “The Power of the Pen” on TUESDAY, August 25, 5:30 to 7:30 PM at the Ogden Farmers’ Library, 269 Ogden Center Rd. in Spencerport, with Westside Monroe County Indivisible, the Chili Democratic Committee, Knowledge and Action ROC, and the NY District 24 Consortium.
The cards go to three places: NY-24 voters, to support Alissa Ellman and defeat Claudia Tenney; Georgia, for voter mobilization; and Chili, for local races. They bring postcards, pens and pizza. You bring the handwriting. It’s about a 40-minute drive from Geneseo, so grab a neighbor and carpool.

Statewide Bannering Event
As part of a Statewide Bannering Project, Genesee Valley Citizens for Peace (GVCP) and the Livingston County Bridge Brigade (LCBB) with Genesee Valley Indivisible (GVI) will be among dozens of activist groups raising banners for peace and justice across New York on Saturday, August 29th.
Some groups will be on highway bridge overpasses. Some groups will be in high traffic areas firmly on the ground. See both options happening in Livingston County, below. We anticipate that members of Hemlock Rising and Indivisible Action NY (Dansville) will be among those holding up the banners. Join us to share your voice for peace and justice!

Volunteers to rotate in and out of bannering are still welcome.
How YOU Can Help Alissa Ellman Get Elected!
Announcing training to knock on doors, deliver brochures to homes, and how to speak to undecided or wavering voters. Volunteer Training — presented by Alissa Ellman — Tuesday, August 25th, 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM, via Zoom.
The Zoom link will be distributed by 4pm on Tuesday, August 25th. To receive the link, (1) Enroll as a volunteer for Alissa’s campaign on her website ASAP. (2) Email Genesee Valley Indivisible, info@geneseevalleyindivisible.org. We will monitor that Inbox from 4pm to 7pm on Tuesday and send the link to anyone who requests it.
GVI encourages members and supporters to volunteer directly for a campaign, preferably Alissa Ellman; or, for Mike Mills or Gladys Flores. As an organization, GVI will focus on voter education, fundraising, and candidate name recognition.
Note #1 – The NY24 Congressional Race is GVI’s focus, but Alissa may join the other two Democratic candidates campaigning in the western Finger Lakes. Their goal would be to create a coordinated campaign for door-knocking, making phone calls, handing out literature. GVI members should be aware of the expanded scope of these actions.
Note #2 – GVI may only contribute cash to a federal election candidate. Individuals may contribute by credit/debit card via ActBlue, by check, or in cash. See the DONATE link below.
